My Life.

Hello all.

My name is Andrea Garcia and I'm 18 years old. I am a freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University and I'm majoring in environmental engineering. I was born in Miami but over the years I slowly moved my way up the coast of Florida where my parents finally found a nice neighborhood in Coral Springs, Florida. I attended Coral Glades High School and I was a part of the schools marching band. I played the trumpet for 5 years; however I just recently resigned from playing. I rather focus more on completing my major and getting a job as soon as I can. I will say that I do miss having the feeling of being on the field all summer, fall, and winter long. I also played many other instruments before I started playing the trumpet. I have played the piano, violin, bass guitar, and guitar.

Back in Coral Springs I have my mother, step dad, and my brother. I also have an amazing boyfriend, Kenny, back at home. I miss them all terribly but it’s nice to get away and live on my own. My freshman year of high school I lost a brother to an illness he was born with. I still have a hard time dealing with it but I normally just don’t bring it up or try to think about it when I’m with friends. I spent most of my life helping my parents take care of him because he was mental disabled and couldn’t do much on his own, but he knew how much we loved him and cared for him.

I know it’s weird to say but I enjoy doing math than any other subject (sorry, I tend to jump subjects really randomly and fast). Most people look at me like I’m a crazy person with no life. Just so you all know I do have a life and I’m always willing to make some new friends. I’m also always up to try something new, like a sport or a game or whatever seems pretty cool. I’m a very open minded person and I always have an open listening ear. Well that’s all I can come up with to say. If you want to know any more about me, you can always just ask me or anything like that. Thanks for reading.

  1. I'm sorry about your brother. I couldn't imagine losing my brother or anyone close to me. On another note, I also love math better than any other subject.

  2. Yeah, it's fine. I've pretty much gotten used to the pain and I don't talk much about it or show too much emotion to it unless I'm alone or with family. Also yay for not being alone on loving math. That's a first for me. People look like I'm crazy for liking and understanding math.

  3. I also was born in Miami and prefer to do math over any other subject and people look at me like I'm strange too, but I just understand it.

  4. I think it's awesome that you love math because it does sound weird but so do I. You're going to have to share some of your music talent because my boyfriend is about to give up on me with the guitar. :)

  5. I would never have been able to tell the trials and tribulations you have been through just by looking at you. You are a very strong person and I somewhat can feel what you've been through and losing someone that was truely close to you and that you loved. I lost one of my best friends to Leukemia.
